Both columns include one public IPv4, so the rows compare like with like: CubePath's figures add its $1.50/mo IPv4, and Linode includes one IPv4 with every plan.
CubePath figures are the monthly compute rate plus the $1.50/mo dedicated IPv4, the same figures /pricing shows by default. Linode (Akamai Cloud) figures are its public USD monthly rates for core regions, read from Linode's public API and Akamai's pricing page on 20 October 2026; Jakarta and São Paulo cost more. Dedicated CPU rows use Linode's G6 rates, the lowest it publishes: G7 costs more, and G8 is billed by the hour with no monthly cap. Linode includes more disk on the shared tiers, so each column states its own configuration.
Find your current Linode plan on the left and the plan to deploy on the right. Shared CPU and High Memory map to General Purpose, Dedicated CPU maps to Dedicated CPU.

Linode sells Dedicated CPU in three generations (G6, G7 and G8) with the same core and RAM shapes, so one row covers all three. The Nanode 1 GB maps to gp.nano, which doubles the RAM. High Memory plans map to General Purpose plans with at least the same RAM and many more vCPU.
CubePath does not offer GPU or Accelerated (VPU) instances, and its largest VPS has 192 GB of RAM: for Linode Dedicated 256 GB and up, a CubePath dedicated server is the closer match.

Why CubePath
More server for the same budget
The reasons developers and teams move their VPS hosting from Linode to CubePath.
A smaller bill for the same server
Comparable shared and dedicated plans for 45% to 73% less every month, with the IPv4 counted on both sides.
More cores per dollar
From 16 GB of RAM up, General Purpose ships more vCPU than the matching Linode plan, and Dedicated CPU gives the same cores with up to twice the RAM.
More transfer, per server
From 3 TB on gp.nano to 200 TB on the largest plans, included with each server. At 8 GB of RAM that is 10 TB against 5 TB.
Free DDoS protection
Always-on, network-level mitigation included with every server, at no extra cost.
A monthly cap on every plan
Every CubePath plan, shared or dedicated, bills by the hour and stops at the listed monthly rate, so the price in the table is the most you pay.
Real human support
Talk to engineers who actually run the platform, in English and Spanish, with no paid support tiers required.
What people move over
The workloads that come from Linode
Anything that runs on a Linode runs here. These are the ones we see most.
The six things worth checking before you move a production workload, whichever VPS hosting provider you end up on.
01Compare the real cost per core and per GB, not the headline
Entry prices tell you very little. Take the configuration you actually run and price it on both sides with the extras included: the IPv4, backups, transfer overage and any support plan. A 4 vCPU / 8 GB shared server is $48/mo on Linode and $16.71/mo on CubePath gp.starter, both with one IPv4, so on that shape the gap is about 65% before either invoice adds anything else.
02Know whether you need shared, dedicated or high memory
Shared vCPU plans (Linode Shared CPU, CubePath General Purpose) split physical cores between tenants and suit web apps, small databases, bots and staging. Dedicated vCPU plans (Linode Dedicated CPU, CubePath Dedicated CPU) reserve physical cores for builds, CI runners, encoding and anything latency-sensitive. Linode's High Memory plans pair a lot of RAM with very few cores; a General Purpose plan with the same RAM brings far more vCPU, usually for less.
03Check included transfer and what an overage costs
Linode pools the transfer of all your Linodes into one account allowance (some newer regions keep a separate pool), bills overage at $0.005 per GB, and its G8 Dedicated plans include no transfer at all. CubePath includes transfer with every server, from 3 TB to 200 TB depending on the plan, which is more than the matching Linode plan on every row of the tables above. If you serve media or backups, price the traffic before the compute.
04Put the server where your users are
Linode has the bigger map: 33 regions across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania. CubePath runs three: Barcelona for the EU, plus Houston and Miami for the US and Latin America. If your users are in Spain, southern Europe, the US or Latin America, those three cover them well; if you need Tokyo or Sydney, that is where Linode leads. Latency is decided by geography, so measure it from where your users are: our looking glass runs the test from each site.
05Look at how you get help when something breaks
Check the language your provider answers in, the hours it covers and whether decent support is an add-on. CubePath support is handled by the engineers who run the platform, in English and Spanish, with no paid tiers to unlock it. Also confirm there is DDoS mitigation at network level, included rather than billed per incident.
06Make sure you can leave again
A provider worth moving to is one you could move away from. Look for snapshots and backups you control, an API and a CLI for automation and plain rsync or rclone access to your data. CubePath exposes a REST API and an open source CLI, the counterpart to linode-cli, so the migration you are doing now stays a scripted job rather than a manual rebuild.
Summary: on shared plans CubePath is roughly 54% to 73% cheaper than the matching Linode Shared CPU plan, with more vCPU from 16 GB up and more included transfer on every tier. On dedicated cores it is roughly 45% to 58% cheaper than Linode's lowest Dedicated CPU rate, with the same cores and as much RAM or more. Linode includes more disk, has many more regions and offers GPUs. Hourly billing, DDoS protection, snapshots and an API are common ground.
FAQ
Linode vs CubePath
The questions we hear most from people making the switch.
Is CubePath cheaper than Linode?
For comparable vCPU and RAM, yes. A Linode 8 GB with 4 vCPU is $48/mo with its IPv4, while the equivalent CubePath gp.starter is $16.71/mo with its own. Across the shared tiers the gap runs from 54% to 73%. You can check the full lineup on the live VPS plans page.
Are the specs really comparable?
We match RAM tier for tier on AMD EPYC CPUs with NVMe storage, and from 16 GB up CubePath ships more vCPU than the Linode plan at the same RAM. Linode includes more disk on its shared plans (160 GB against 100 GB at 8 GB of RAM, for example), and each column in the tables states its own configuration so you can see exactly what you get.
How much transfer is included?
Every CubePath server includes its own monthly transfer, from 3 TB on gp.nano to 200 TB on the largest plans. Linode includes 1 to 20 TB depending on the plan, pooled across your account, charges $0.005 per GB over the pool, and includes no transfer on G8 Dedicated plans. On every matching pair in our tables, the CubePath plan includes more.
Where are your data centers?
CubePath runs data centers in Barcelona (EU), Houston and Miami, so you get EU data residency alongside low-latency coverage for North and South America. Linode has many more regions (33), so if you need a server in Asia or Oceania it is the wider choice today.
Can I migrate my Linode to CubePath?
Yes. You move it yourself with the tools you already use: deploy a CubePath VPS, copy your data over with rsync or restore it from a backup, test it, and point your DNS at the new server. Then delete the old Linode, since Linode keeps billing a powered-off instance until it is removed.
Do you bill by the hour like Linode?
Yes. Every CubePath server is billed per hour with a monthly cap, so you never pay more than the listed monthly rate. As on Linode, a server bills for as long as it exists, including while it is stopped, so destroy it when you are done to stop the charge.
Do you offer Dedicated CPU plans like Linode?
Yes. CubePath Dedicated CPU gives you guaranteed physical cores with no noisy neighbours, from $31.92/mo for 4 cores and 8 GB, against $72/mo for Linode's Dedicated 8 GB (G6) with the same cores and RAM. See the VPS plans for the full line.
How do I get started?
Pick a plan from the VPS page, deploy it in seconds and you are running. If you would like a hand sizing the move, talk to our team first and we will recommend the right plan for your workload.
Is Linode now Akamai Cloud?
Yes. Akamai acquired Linode in 2022 and now sells the platform as Akamai Cloud. The plans keep the Linode and Nanode names and the API still lives at api.linode.com, so a Linode alternative and an Akamai Cloud alternative are the same search.
What changed in Linode billing in 2026?
On 1 July 2026 Akamai moved G8 Dedicated, GPU and additional IPv4 addresses to hourly pricing with no monthly cap, and G8 plans include no transfer. Shared CPU, High Memory and the G6 and G7 Dedicated plans keep their monthly cap. Every CubePath plan has a monthly cap and includes transfer.
Is there an alternative to the $5 Nanode?
The Nanode 1 GB at $5/mo is cheaper than any CubePath plan, and if 1 GB is enough it is a fair deal. Our entry plan, gp.nano, is $5.56/mo with its IPv4 and gives you 2 GB of RAM, 40 GB of NVMe and 3 TB of transfer: the vCPU and RAM of the $12/mo Linode 2 GB for less than half the price.
Do you offer GPU instances?
No. CubePath is CPU-only, on AMD EPYC across the whole fleet. Linode offers NVIDIA GPU plans, so a workload that needs a GPU should stay there; everything that runs on CPU, from websites and databases to containers and AI agents, moves over.
What replaces Linode's High Memory plans?
A General Purpose plan with the same RAM or more. The High Memory 48 GB (2 vCPU, $120/mo) maps to gp.pro with 16 vCPU and 48 GB for $80.58/mo, and the plan table above maps every High Memory size.
Is there an API and a CLI, like linode-cli?
Yes. CubePath has a REST API and an open source CLI, so you can create, resize, snapshot and destroy servers from a script or a CI pipeline, the same way you automate Linode today.
Is there a Linode alternative with support in Spanish?
Yes, that is CubePath. Support is handled by the engineers who run the platform, in Spanish and English, at no extra cost, and this whole site is available in both languages.
Ready to switch from Linode?
Deploy an AMD EPYC + NVMe server in seconds and keep the difference.
