Both columns include one dedicated IPv4, so the rows compare like with like: $1.50/mo here, included in the plan price at Vultr.

CubePath figures are the monthly compute rate plus the $1.50/mo dedicated IPv4, the same figures /pricing shows by default. Vultr figures are the monthly prices in USD published in Vultr's own public plans API on 20 October 2026, which are the monthly cap of its hourly billing and include one IPv4. VX1 with local NVMe is offered in a subset of Vultr's regions. Specs are matched as closely as possible; where a tier differs, each column states its own configuration, and Vultr plans ship larger disks at most sizes.

Vultr Cloud GPU has no CubePath equivalent: CubePath runs CPU-only AMD EPYC servers, so GPU workloads are better kept where they are.

Vultr's older Optimized Cloud Compute General Purpose plans (voc-g) are also dedicated vCPU and map to the same Dedicated CPU plan by RAM.

Why CubePath

More server for the same budget

The reasons developers and teams move their cloud servers to CubePath.

A bill that stays low

The same AMD EPYC cores and NVMe storage you would pick on Vultr High Performance, for up to 68% less every month.

Dedicated cores for less

CubePath Dedicated CPU gives you up to twice the guaranteed cores of a VX1 instance with the same RAM, at a lower monthly rate.

More traffic included

Every matched CubePath plan includes as much transfer as its Vultr counterpart or more: 10 TB on gp.starter against 6 TB on the 4 vCPU High Performance plan.

DDoS protection included

Always-on, network-level mitigation comes with every server, so there is no per-instance add-on to remember.

Pay by the hour

Spin servers up and down on demand. You are billed per hour with a monthly cap, so you never pay more than the listed rate.

Real human support

Talk to engineers who actually run the platform, in English and Spanish, with no paid support tiers required.

Ready to cut your cloud bill?

Deploy an AMD EPYC + NVMe server in under a minute and see the difference on your next invoice.

Deploy a server
Switching is easy

Move from Vultr in three steps

Bring your workloads over without the headache.

1

Pick your plan

Match your current Cloud Compute or VX1 plan to a CubePath VPS with the table above, or size up for the same budget.

2

Deploy in seconds

Launch from a clean OS image or a 1-click marketplace app, then restore your data from a snapshot or backup.

3

Point your DNS

Update your domain's records to the new server, check that everything answers, then destroy the old Vultr instance so it stops billing.

Buyer's guide

How to choose a Vultr alternative

The six things worth checking before you move a production workload, whichever provider you end up on.

Compare the real cost per core and per GB, not the headline

Entry prices tell you very little. Take the configuration you actually run, and price it on both sides with the extras included: the IPv4 address, DDoS protection, backups and any support plan. A 4 vCPU / 8 GB AMD EPYC instance is $48.00/mo on Vultr High Performance and $16.71/mo on CubePath gp.starter, both with an IPv4, so on that shape the gap is around 65% before either invoice adds anything else. Backups cost 20% of the plan on both sides.

Know whether you need shared or dedicated vCPU

Shared vCPU plans (Vultr Regular Performance, High Frequency and High Performance, CubePath General Purpose) split physical cores between tenants and are the right call for web apps, small databases, bots and staging. Dedicated vCPU plans (Vultr VX1 and Optimized Cloud Compute, CubePath Dedicated CPU) reserve physical cores for you, which matters for builds, CI runners, video encoding, game servers and anything latency-sensitive. Paying for dedicated cores you do not need is the most common way to overspend.

Check included traffic and what an overage costs

Vultr adds 2 TB of free transfer per account to each plan's allowance, from 2 TB to 12 TB on High Performance, pools it across all your instances and bills overage at $0.01/GB. CubePath includes from 3 TB on the entry plan up to 200 TB on the largest, which is as much or more than the matching Vultr plan at every size in the tables above. If you serve media or backups, price the traffic before the compute.

Put the server where your users are

Vultr runs more than 30 regions across six continents, including Madrid and Miami, so if your users are in Asia, Africa or Oceania it reaches places CubePath does not. CubePath serves the EU from Barcelona and the Americas from Houston and Miami. Latency is decided by geography, so measure it from where your users actually are: our looking glass runs the test from each site.

Look at how you get help when something breaks

Check the language your provider answers in, the hours it covers and whether decent support is an add-on. CubePath support is handled by the engineers who run the platform, in English and Spanish, with no paid tiers to unlock it. Also confirm how DDoS mitigation is sold: on Vultr it is an optional $10/mo per instance, on CubePath it is network-level and included with every server.

Make sure you can leave again

A provider worth moving to is one you could move away from. Look for snapshots and backups you control, an API and a CLI for automation and plain rsync or rclone access to your data. CubePath exposes a REST API and an open source CLI, the counterpart to vultr-cli, so the same migration you are doing now stays a scripted job rather than a manual rebuild.

Summary: for shared AMD EPYC instances CubePath is roughly 54% to 68% cheaper than the equivalent Vultr High Performance plan, and for dedicated cores it is roughly 42% to 68% cheaper than the equivalent VX1 plan, with as many or more cores at the same RAM tier and DDoS protection included. Vultr covers more regions, offers cloud GPUs and ships larger disks at most sizes. Everything else, from NVMe storage and AMD EPYC CPUs to hourly billing and 20% backups, is common ground.

FAQ

Vultr vs CubePath

The questions we hear most from people making the switch.

Is CubePath cheaper than Vultr?

For comparable AMD EPYC cores and RAM, yes. A Vultr High Performance plan with 4 vCPU and 8 GB is $48.00/mo with its IPv4, while the equivalent CubePath gp.starter is $16.71/mo with its own. You can check the full lineup on the live VPS plans page.

Are the specs really comparable?

We match vCPU and RAM tier for tier, on AMD EPYC CPUs with NVMe SSD storage, the same class of hardware Vultr's High Performance and VX1 lines run on. Vultr ships larger disks at most sizes, and each column in the tables above states its own configuration so you can see exactly what you get.

How much traffic is included?

Every CubePath server ships with a monthly transfer allowance, from 3 TB on the entry plan up to 200 TB on the largest ones. Vultr High Performance plans include 2 to 12 TB, pooled across your account with an extra 2 TB free per account, and bill overage at $0.01/GB.

Where are your data centers?

CubePath runs data centers in Barcelona (EU), plus Houston and Miami in the US, so you get EU data residency alongside low-latency coverage for North and South America. Vultr has a wider footprint, so if you need a region in Asia, Africa or Oceania it remains the broader option.

Can I migrate my Vultr instance?

Yes. You move it yourself with the tools you already use: deploy a CubePath VPS, copy your data over from a snapshot, a backup or a plain rsync between servers, test it, and point your DNS at the new server.

Do you offer hourly billing like Vultr?

Yes. Servers are billed per hour with a monthly cap, so you never pay more than the listed monthly rate. As on Vultr, a server bills for as long as it exists, including while it is stopped, so destroy it when you are done to stop the charge.

Do you offer dedicated vCPU, like VX1 or Optimized Cloud Compute?

Yes. The CubePath Dedicated CPU line gives you guaranteed physical cores with no noisy neighbours, starting at $31.92/mo for 4 cores and 8 GB, compared with $55.48/mo for a 2 vCPU, 8 GB VX1 with local NVMe.

How do I get started?

Pick a plan from the VPS page, deploy it in seconds and you are running. If you would like a hand sizing the move, talk to our team first and we will recommend the right plan for your workload.

Do you offer bare metal servers like Vultr Bare Metal?

Yes. Alongside cloud servers, CubePath rents full bare metal machines with dedicated CPUs, RAM and NVMe storage, and Windows or custom ISO installs are available there. See the dedicated servers page for the current lineup.

Is DDoS protection included?

Yes. Every CubePath server is covered by always-on, network-level DDoS mitigation at no extra cost. On Vultr, DDoS protection is an optional add-on at $10/mo per instance.

Do you have GPU servers like Vultr Cloud GPU?

No. CubePath runs AMD EPYC CPU servers only, so for GPU training or inference Vultr Cloud GPU stays the right tool. Everything around the GPU, such as the API, the database, the queue workers and the website, can run on CubePath.

Is there a Vultr alternative with a data center in Spain?

Yes. CubePath's European site is in Barcelona, so your data stays in the EU and in Spain specifically, with a short network path for users in Spain, Portugal and southern Europe. Vultr also has a Madrid region, so on location the two are close; the difference is in price, included traffic and DDoS protection.

Which Vultr plan types match which CubePath line?

Vultr Regular Performance, High Frequency and High Performance are shared vCPU and map to CubePath General Purpose (gp.*). VX1 and Optimized Cloud Compute reserve dedicated vCPU and map to CubePath Dedicated CPU (dc.*). The table above maps the most common plan IDs one by one.

Is there an API and a CLI, like vultr-cli?

Yes. CubePath has a REST API and an open source CLI, so you can create, rescale, snapshot and destroy servers from a script or a CI pipeline, the same way you automate Vultr today.

Ready to switch?

Deploy an AMD EPYC + NVMe server in seconds and keep the difference.
